Vectra C Caravan / Estate - higher speed strange sound

Hi,
well, now tricky question : strange sound - something like rubbing, not so noisy - seems under bonnet - when speed achives about 55mph and more - any common/standard reasons ?

I don't think so tyres cause the problem - it's another kind of sound

what are the make of the tyres?

and how much tread is on the tyres ?

about 140,000 miles ; 2004
I don't have so many miles on these tyres (dunlop winter sport) - and it's another kind of sound - strange sound started after driving quite fast about 1,5h and now exists when the speed achives about 55mph and more)

have you checked the wheel bearings means its done 140000 miles?

does it do it when your in gear ?

recently car service (maintenance) has been made on about 130,000 miles, now is done about 140,000 - (I didn't check bearings now) - it seems that sound source is under bonnet but not from wheels;
(car is in gear (e.g. 5 and and I don't change gear))

i would get the wheel bearings checked then

means its done 140000 miles

i had i strange sound on mine for quite some time, turned out to be a wobly rear disc... when replaced then all is fine.
