    Default H7 SMD LED Bulbs

Hi has anyone used some of these for their headlights and/or full beams?

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=251172147895

They're crap, not bright enough! I've got some of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-H7-CREE-LE...dcf5b8&vxp=mtr and still they're not bright enough for night driving.

There's a fair ammount of work involved in getting these to work properly as they will flash periodically with the bulb check making your car look like the headlights are flashing alternatively which is bad. I've currently got a circuit on test which needs a few little touches to finish off which will stop the LED lighting when the bulb check pulse is sent but still register that there is a bulb there so there'll be no error. When the test is complete they will be going in the full beam.

Hmmm, LEDs. They'll flicker just like any other LEDs fitted to the Vectra.

I see from the ebay ad that the lumens rating is 400.

To give you some idea how dim that'll be:-

A standard 55 watt halogen bulb emits approx 1100 lumens.
A 35 watt 6000k HID bulb emits approx 3200 lumens.

In short, they'll be approx a third the brightness of standard halogens.
