Default Cdti 150 juddering on idle

Since having a new DMF fitted in April I've had no issues with my 1.9cdti 150.... Until Christmas Eve when the engine began juddering on idle.

I'd driven 20 miles, parked up for an hour and a half, got back in and turned the engine on (clutch depressed as you do) but when i lifted off the clutch i could feel a judder. I gave the car a few revs which made the judder much worse!! At 1000 revs the car was visibly shaking but anything over this and the judder dies off again. I sat for 20mins to allow the engine to warm up (and wait for the wife to stop shopping) but even then it still did the same.

It hadn't done it since but seems as I was at my parents I thought I'd drop into the garage that did the DMF (a diesel specialist) and get them to check the car over. The can't find anything wrong and even running a diagnostics hasn't found anything so I left without an answer.

Today its happened twice & I think I've discovered a pattern. It seems to happen when the cars driven & engine's warm but then parked up and allowed to cool for 1-2 hours and started again.

I don't think it's a DMF/clutch issue as its worse when in neutral.

Any ideas what the issue could be or even a starting point?

3rd injector wiring probs. If not an injector fault. Mine does this for a few seconds when started every 3-4 weeks but goes away very quickly.

The injector wiring is the newer wiring (its a 57 plate). Would that rule out the common wiring fault?

Boost sensor can cause rough running, whip it out (wa-hey!) and give it a clean, quite a simple job.

Other than that, could be sticking EGR (when warm with sludgy gunk in it).

Cleaned the boost sensor a couple of months ago.

EGR Was new 18months ago (I intended to get it blanked & mapped out but haven't got round to it yet). Is there any way to check without stripping the EGR?

I have heard the newer style of plugs having the odd fault, however this may be related to the old injector terminals not being properly cleaned.

Take a look at them and see what they look like If they look fine i'd say it was an injector fault, Can try some injector cleaner with £20 of premium diesel (v-power etc) on a near empty tank and see if this temporarily cures the fault.

Just take the engine cover off and give the injector wiring a wiggle and listen for a change in idle speed.

Cheers guys, will the wiggling them show up a faulty wire/injector even if the judder isn't noticeable at the time or would it be better to induce the fault then try wiggling wires?

My brother's did. Give them all a wiggle with it running. It'll probably be the 3rd injector causing your issues.
