Puddle Lights & Wing Mirror Indicators

Howdy people and Happy New Year for next few days lol. Just a quick intro on what I'm up to for my 1.9CDTI 120. Just bought set of puddle lights and amber led strips off fleabay. Have retro fitted em into my wing mirror housings, just waiting for the weather now, to strip out door cards to fit em.

First job was to find my dremel and cutting bits. Eventually found em, then made cardboard template to suit the amber LED strips. Then masked up wing mirror housings, and drew around the overlaid template making sure it didn't foul the clips on the inside. (Checked by eye) Sorry no photo of drawn around template, but got carried away and forgot to take photos :-(

Fired up the dremel and cut around profile. I cut it slightly smaller then fine tuned the fit with needle files.

Anyways, I pushed em into place, then secured with hot glue gun on the inside. I know the glue doesn't look pretty but who cares??

Happy with them, so I moved on to the puddle lights underneath the housing. Same procedure with the template and masking tape, dremel, etc. I cut these as a snug fit, then secured them the same way

Due to the weather being crap and not having chance to fit em, I did have chance to take photos of em before fitting. I'll post some more once they're on. I'd really appreciate any comments, cheers. By the way, I've seen posts mentioning a Caterman Box?? I've looked on fleabay and cant find em. Any suggestions?

MMMM, looks interesting. I've always fancied doing some wing mirror indicators. At they're all in the door, where are you planning to take the feeds from? if you're taking it from the indicator bulb feed then they'll probably pulse with the bulb check.

Hairy31 was in the process of doing this iirc until he decided to sell the car, think he was looking at some parts off a VW so it looked factory... Nice little mod

Looks the part fella but can I ask how you would change anything if a unit failed now you've glued it all in place

Cheers bud. Soldering iron with flat blade cuts through the glue no probs. Used this method on my beemer

Dunno bout the canbus yet. The amber strips are the stick on type on fleabay, but i decided to cut them into the housing cos it looked neater
