    Default Autobox Misbehaving!

I have a 2006 Vectra CDTI 150 auto and I love it to bits however the autobox is playing up and I was hoping for some advice. Have looked at several other threads with similar problems but cant find any definitive fix.

The box works fine when the engine is cold but once everything it fully warmed up after say 20 miles or half and hour is when the fun begins! Fist and second work lovely but as the box changes up into third it seems to slip into neutral first and then go into third with a bang. The rest of the changes all happen nicely its is just the change from second to third that the gearbox seems to completely stuff up! There are no warning lights or any indication of a problem, I have not been able to find any trouble codes.

I am thinking it may be a transmission fluid issue and plan to change it asap. Any advice would be most welcome!

Have you checked the colour of the fluid to see if it has been contaminated?? This can cause problems with gearchanges, the problem gets worse when the box is hot, this will be when the fluid is thin.

Does it have an oil cooler for the autobox? Is this in good condition or ar the fins damaged?

    OK
Changed the gearbox oil and no different, incidentally the problem also occurred when it changed from 5th to 6th.
pretty much everyone I spoke to said it was the valve block so I bit the bullet and bought a gearbox from a 2007, 40,000 mile car and changed it.

Also installed an external g/b oil cooler whilst changing the box.

I am completely confused now as the fault remains! Different gearbox and g/b ecu but still once warmed up the box slips into neutral when changing up into third gear.

Very unhappy with this now, think the car is going to the scrapper!

Just a little update too add to the weirdness, I know we are not allowed to mention op-com on here but I have noticed that that naughty unmentionable software will connect to my car and work perfectly as long as you like if connected to the engine, infotainment, bcm, front elec centre in fact all modules apart from the transmission. When connected to the transmission it reports no trouble and functions normally except when the gearbox has its 2nd to 3rd gear paddy the connection between o/c and the transmission module is lost. Also when the car is warmed up the o/c to tranny connection is fairly unstable with random losses of connection.
I am thinking that this is an electrical problem now with the can bus connections or possibly the gearbox losing power momentarily.
Does anyone know if there is any inter action between the gearbox ecu and any other system in the vehicle?
