    Default 1.9 injector washer problem

hi guys i have a persistant problem with my 150.

the injector washers went on no 1 and 2 so i had all replaced. then a few months later no 2 and 3 went i asumed that they hadnt been cleaned properly so had them changed again (cleaned properly) run perfect, but a few days later no 2 and 3 went again.

has anyone had a similar problem and know why they wont seal?

Yeah, when re building mine after belt went it took 3 attempts to get them to seal longer then a few days, still don't trust it now but so far so good...

I gave everything a good clean and last time I used a bench grinder with wire brush wheel to clean and scuff the seals, may have helped...

I had this problem, recut the seats myself (tool about £30-£40) fitted new washers and has been fine since
just be careful not to cut the seat too much.

When I fitted my injectors I had the exact same problem. I did not recut the seats but I cleaned the bores impeccably fitted new washers....I tightened the clamps down connected the fuel pipes etc. and then started the car up. I thought everything was fine until a few days later I noticed a burnt diesel smell inside the car. I sprayed soapy water around the injectors and 1-3 were all bubbling like hell.

I then removed those three injectors, cleaned everything again and started it back up. No. 1 was fine but 2 and three were still leaking as most know, you have to remove the injectors in sequence meaning I had to remove the newly sealed no.1 Injector. Cleaned all again, put back together and still two were leaking. It was then I decided to buy a smaller torque wrench from halfords to torque up the injectors. Numbers 1-3 nuts turned twice from what I thought was pretty tight and even number 4 turned once. That was nearly a year ago now and I've had no problems since

Don't quote me but I think the torque level was about 35nm which I could double check for you tomorrow if you need
