Default Eonon 2 DIN gps D5121, better price

Just thought someone might appreciate seeing this -

    http://eonon.co.uk/GPS-Navigation/D5121ET.html#photo

Curious how searching for the D5121 model brings up the price of £262 (45% discount), whereas the D5121ET (only found via Google search, not on the Eonon website) is list as above @ 50% discount. On Ebay Incartronics are selling this for £294.95 - but buy direct from Eonon for a 2 year warranty.

Anyone got one - pleased/not with it?

FWIW I think all the Chinese-made gps units are from the same factory, very similar spec. and design. And before you say it, I doubt they are necessarily poor quality - as someone else said China is trying to buy into the (every) market, so will heavily discount.

I'm gonna take the plunge anyway cos my CD70 is shot, no nav and disc won't eject. Will be selling for spares next week . . .

Well, bought it, liked a lot about it, but fitting was a 'mare, took hours and still it doesn't fit flush, neveer will. The plugs are on the wrong side compared to the car wiring, so more bulk behind the unit. ONly two securing points, so it sags in the cage, which itself isn't that tight - looks a bit of mess, really. You'd think for a product marketed to fit Vauxhall it would actually be designed to do just that?

Sound quality is excellent, plenty of volume as well, CD player a little slow to load, radio not as strong as CD70.

Touchscreen is OK. USB volume much lower than CD or radio - haven't tried from SD card.

A few of the buttons show Chinese characters!

Navigation looks OK, but when you type in a destination the text appears at op left, almost impossible to read from the driver's position. The remot control is poor, most keys don't seem to work unless pressed very hard and close to the unit.

Bluetooth rubbish, unreliable on making calls, no MP3 tags when playing bluetooth music from phone, and screen reverts back to phone book whilst music is playing. Talking of which, importing the phone book duplicated every contact!

Steering wheel controls don't work properly, left hand set control BC function as well as CD or radio. And no way of setting them specifically for a Vauxhall or Opel, as they're not in the weird list of cars.

Too much not good about this, so it's going back. So far as I'm concerned it's not fit for purpose. Shame, as the concept is great, just the design and software is not up to it.
