    Default moving a consumer unit??

    Electricians any ideas how much it would be to move a consumer unit about 5 metres. tia.

    Guessing it would be around a couple of hundred if done by a professional based on some work I have had done in the past.

    we wanted to do the same ourselves but its quite expensive to do, mainly because of this

    If the Consumer Unit is more than 2 mtrs (6 Feet 6 inches) from the Supply Company Meter you will have to install a small sub feeder from this position to the Consumer Unit. Speak with the Supply Company. They may allow you deference if the distance is not too great. (But really you don.t have much hope) You will require the Supply Company to move the meter location, its expensive so be prepared. If you do go ahead with it make sure the electrician is part p, dont skrimp on cost!!

    Oooh well am a spark i would say about 350 mate then possibky have to pay for ya new tails easyesy way put tit all through junction boxes to extened the cables do it your self mate then get a spark to put the tails sin for ya if you need ans indepth pm me ia wil help u out

    Electician only needs to be part p registered if doesn't have 17th edition and 2391 test & inspection qualification
