Default Some advice on these diesels please

Hi everyone i have been looking at getting myself a diesel maybe late next year while I save a bit, I have in mind 3 cars and just wondered on opinions and if anyone has any experience with them,

    Alfa Romeo gt
    Peugeot 407 coupe
    Saab 93

Just wondered what are your opinions has I must admit I'm swaying towards the Alfa

Alfa and Saab have the same (with very minor plumbing alteration) versions of the 1.9 diesel found in the Vectra the 407 has Peugeots older generation HDi 2.0 litre in 136Hp flavour, they also do suffer from the same issues of egr, dmf injectors etc etc etc

Agreed, don't even look at the Peugeot, after 6 months will start to fall apart
Although the engine is PSA group and should be bomb proof, the one I had disintegrated and destroyed itself

I don't agree that the Alfa is ugly; but I think I would still swerve it. Alfa improved their build quality by a massive margin starting from the 159/Brera/Spider platform. One of them would probably be a safer bet - or the Saab if you leave the decision to your head! The Pug would drive you to insanity with the cheap plasticky feel of everything you touch inside it. I've had a 407 and a 159; they are on different planets when it comes to quality and feel-good factor.

I have two mates who bought Alfa GTs last year. 1 sold it after 4 months, the other after 8. Both have said they'll never touch an Alfa again!
