Default Vectra 2.2 Sri auto opinions

Been asked by a pal to go and have a look at a 07 2.2 Sri direct auto.
Anyone give us a heads up on what to look for on this as in how to check if any recall warranty work has been done, also not dealt with a auto in a vec before any thing to look for ie sounds or the way it changes gear ?

    Cheers

    Andy

To be honest just make sure the gearbox is sound I had a 2.2 auto and the gearbox was letting water in around the Ceils in the end took it to vauxhsll and it. Was a recall that I didn't know or hear about and they wanted 2 grand job lot just be careful lol

I have a 2.2 direct myself but not to sure about the auto what to look for and don't fancy saying its ok then the thing being a lemon in a couple of weeks !
i suppose if there is no history of the timing belts being changed and the fuel pressure pump being changed its a walk away job.
What make should the fuel pressure pump be so that I know it's the updated one ?

The fuel pump should be Continental and the fuel pressure regulator should have a large white paint spot on it to show it has been changed under recall.

Not necessarily a walk away job. If the price is right buy it change the belt and pump, then you will have peace of mind knowing that it has been done.
3.2 v6 Signum and loving it

The 2.2 petrol engine has a timing chain, not a belt. Providing it doesn't rattle (and if there is a problem it usually rattles on start up) then the chain is fine.
