    Default MAS Performance question

    Hi all,

Got myself a 1.9cdti 150 Siggy a couple of months ago and wish I had seen this site before hand. Its a 56 plate with only 53,000 miles with full vauxhall service history. But it would appear it was only used for short journeys by the previous owner, so the usual problems started with the inlet manifold, DPF etc. To cut a long story short Ive had a new inlet manifold fitted under warranty and when i got it back they also said that the DPF was blocked so they carried out two forced regens and the car seemed alot better, it feels like the power is slowly decreasing again. I suspect as read on here that DPF is knackered so Im thinking about getting into MAS to sort the DPF and prevent any damage to the new inlet.

Since i've had the car i suspect its never been at full power, so I dont know whether or not to get a performance map aswell or just get the DPF & EGR mapped out and the DPF removed and keep the standard map.

Has anyone just had this done or has everyone had a performance map? If you kept the standard map did you notice any difference in performnce when you removed the DPF.

    Cheers (sorry for the essay)

Do it - get it all taken off and the performance map and it'll become the car it should have been from the factory mate. Ben has done loads of us on here and he's a top chap...

Well its booked in for next friday

I'll speak to Ben when i get there but from what im reading on here its all positive. Im just paranoid about overstraining the engine etc with a performance map, as you hear all sorts of stories but I haven't seen as bad thing on here about Bens maps.

Should be interesting if the car is already down on standard power and i do go for a performance map.

Stupid DPFs, & EGRs, more hassle than they are worth, I hope ill end up getting better mpg too as its rubbish at the moment. Ill let you know how I get on....can't wait.

The engine can handle it fine mate - treat it with mechanical sympathy (warming up etc) and don't thrash it everywhere and it'll be more than fine. The engines are under-stressed with the standard map which is all about emissions - by using the performance map you're simply using the engine to it's proper capabilities.
