Another laptop Issue

I wonder if you gurus can help me with a problem?

Everytime i try to connect the laptop to my wireless it crashes the router, it can take a few attempts to get the connection.

Every other pc related equipement connects straight away with no problems

Any ideas?

Have you tried rebooting the router and laptop at the same time?

How far from the router is the laptop?

Tried resetting them and even swearing at both

Router distances ranges from 2 foot to about 20 foot.

Have you got latest driver for laptop wireless card? (Use wired connection to update if need be)

Have you tried updating driver? go to control panel (this is for xp but other OS are roughly the same) then System, then click hardware, then click on device manager, then on the list look for Network adapters and double click on that then double click on the wireless adapter you are using, there might be only one there anyway, a box opens, go to the top and click on driver then click update driver and follow windows instructions to finish off.

could be a security mis-match. do you know what security setting you have your router running at?

what os are you using? If its vista/7 delete the connection from your system and try to sep up again

To delete wireless connection go to control panel - under network and internet click view network status and tasks - then click manage wirelss networks top left - then right click your network and then remove.

Hopefully this will cure your problems
