Dry day so time to swap the piece of dash trim under the steering wheel for one with a cubby under the switch, removed light switch no problem, removed screws along the bottom no problem, screw under the light switch half way out SNAPPED the clip off the upper piece of dash, not happy.Removed the rest swapped for new one and the thing just will not sit right at the switch end,ah well it'll be off again tomorrow in the rain and see if I can sort it,wish I'd left well alone

LOL, sounds like you did the much same as me but I left the light switch 'till last. Then the last one snapped the retaining plastic before I could figure out how to remove the switch. In fact it took "the forum" to help me get the light switch out, damm clever idea the switch designer had when he thought about that one . grrr

Anyway m8, persevere at it, I found that one of the heavier duty cable ties through the screwhole in the cubby holder up to the dash where the screw used to screw in, and it solved the problem and is a nice tight fit.

The only real drawback is going to be having to cut and replace the cable tie every time I need to get up behind the dash now but at least the dash under cover is nice and secure and looks "natually fitted" and besides that, the cubby is a useful "mod"

You're welcome m8, I didn't want you to spoil your night by worrying how you were going to resolve it, because when I asked about a "replacement part", it meant a complete new "behind the dash mounting frame" FPMSL

Cheers & goodluck tomorrow and by the way, it did take me about half a dozen attempts and wasted ties before I sussed it

Yeah LOL, well I won't make the same mistake EVER again
I think that the mounting point behind the switch is the weakest of the 5 and so I guess the "real" method is to remove the switch AND the mounting bolt behind it before the other 4 get tackled.
