Hello,I'm having big issues with my 2.2 vectra.
Driving home from work this Friday I noticed all of the sudden that cold air was blowing through the vents even though the panel was set on a high tempeture, well the the hot air came back and then disappeared again and the I noticed that the temp gauge went up over 90c and continued rising too over 100c. It went up so much that the temp warning light started flashing and I had to pull over and cut the engine.
Had a hell getting home with all the starts and stops.
So yesterday I changed the thermostat hoping this would help, well now I doesn't go to 120c, stops at approx 100c. But still no hot air coming out of the vents.
I have topped of the coolant expansion reservoir, hoping to get out the air... And the thing is that I have a gas warmer on my car, I live in Sweden so it's needed due to the fact that at this moment we have -12,6C. Well this gas warmer has a external pump that pumps around the coolant as the warmer heats it up, and as the car hits approx 100c and i start the warmer and the pump starts working and circulating the coolant then the engine temp drops and warm air starts coming out of the vents...
So could the water pump be done?
How can I check if it's working or not?
If its a air lock, how can I get the air out....
Really glad for all the help I can get on this because it's driving me crazy!!!
Merry christmas by the way!!!
