Default God dam it, Another coil spring broken!

Went to pets at home last night, as i turned into the parking space i heard a twang.
I knew what it was and confirmed it this morning when i jacked the car up, the front coil spring was broken in the blue sleeve and the end was snapped off and missing.
was due to go to norwich today to see my brother but have had to cancel.
going to have to get a new spring now, would upgrade to eibachs but dont have the cash at the minute.
this must be my 6th or 7th spring thats broke on my vauxhalls over the last 12 years grrrrrr

I am aware of Apex, also know of Spax both seem to have good quality kists back in the day I have used both with no issue, plus they are cheaper than Eibach, try also H&R for a search as they were very good on BMW cars.

I bought the monroe GTS (sri) ones from the monroeshop. Much thicker and sturdier that VX ones and were only £62 the pair

apperantly these are decent springs, a few of the guys have them on here, my rear drivers is broken but only the small tail about 3 inches long, so before mot time thats what i will be investing in.

I had Spax kit fitted on my old saloon (35mm drop springs and adjustable shocks) and they seemed great, although can't tell you how long they lasted as I got rid of the car about a year after fitting them.

Personally having now fitted H&R's / Bilstein B6 shocks on both my car and another members and recommended them to several other people, I wouldn't fit anything else on mine these days. But if budget is an issue then they may not be an option. Check out www.larkspeed.com for prices, they're the cheapest I could find for suspension stuff.

I got mine from Southsea motor factors for my Vec Estate. They were an upgrade from the standard size and came recommended by the bloke in the shop. Can't remember the name of them but 4 years on and still going strong. Will dig out the receipt later on and let you know what they are called.

At least you have an excuse not to visit Naaarwich and stay in gods country......
