    Default Intermittent spanner light 2.0 t

    As above the spanner light randomly comes on it feels like its when the car is on boost at high revs it seems to stall / stutter then carry on running but seems to lack power. Once the car has been stopped and restarted the fault vanishes I've had the code read but nothing is present except once I got one that mentioned the turbo wastgate regulating valve. A I've just changed the turbo I've checked all pipes / wires and all seems in the right place . Is the above mentioned part the black box that sits on the top left of the turbo with pipes and a wiring block attached to it ? Is there anyway of testing it thanks in advance .

    it could be that at fault, its the charged air bypass valve aka boost solenoid.. you have two, one by the turbo and another under the engine cover near the throttle body.. they have different part numbers.

    cheers for that you wouldnt happen to have a ball park figure on the price i bet its stealer only aswell there 2 on ebay but rather buy new than second hand

    They are not expensive, I have spare I carry in my car but they came from a saab at a scrappy. I think they are about £17 each but need to ordered.

    I've now changed the boost solenoid for one that was known to work but..... It's still the same anyone any ideas what else it could be its driving me nuts one minute it's driving fine then there's a slight pause then no boost ?

    did you clear all codes or reset the ecu after changing it.. if not and you do not have a code reader you can do this be disconnecting your battery for 15mins or so..

    I would try this first before spending out on a new part, its best to do this when replacing any part that throws error codes and LHM..

    your working your way through a process of elimination, the other solenoid is next be changed, after that its your wastegate diaphragm.

    Yes cleared the codes I've got access to a snap on reader . Something I noticed was that on the old valve when removed I couldn't blow through the metal end but on the new one I could ( if that makes sense ) ill try the one on the throttle body in the morning.
