Well after only a few months employment this year ,
the 2.2 Direct Design Vectra went in about May / June for a fraction of what i paid for it ,
typical .... No one really wants larger petrol cars .
and since August , i've had no work . Hopefully in the new year it picks up .
So with a smaller sized budget than normal i have been scouring the internet and papers etc for 6 months for a diesel Vectra , but this has come to nothing .
I tried to keep it in the Vauxhall family and looked for a decent Astra , but once again nothing .
Vectras are either cheap & tatty / sky high milers or good condition & holding their higher price .
Any way , we ( as a family of 2 + 2 ) need a vehicle to do all the christmas visits to 3 lots of grand parents when the public transport is off .
So .... I apologise to you members , that i have bought this .
A greenhouse on wheels ....... L.O.L.
1.9 DCi , Renault Grand Scenic .
7 seats .
Keyless entry ...... With a Key Card .... ( just walk up to car & it opens as long as the key card is in your pocket ) . It has remote C/L too .
Push button for start / stop engine ...... ( no key holes ) as long as the key card is on your person or in a holder in the dash , you can start the vehicle .
Electric Handbrake ,,,,, just pull a little lever on the right side of the steering wheel and the car puts on the handbrake itself . I still go to pull the phantom handbrake in the middle of the car , L.O.L. = When you pull away the car automatically releases the handbrake and when you press the stop engine button , it puts the handbrake on for you itself .
Digital speedo / computer .
Almost full size electric glass roof .
Built in pull blinds in the doors and boot .
Multi disc C.D. player .
The previous owner was a car fanatic keeping every receipt for light bulbs , services , tyres , radiators , track rods , brakes , etc etc , basically every thing done to the car .
So it's well documented .
It's a good runner for a 1.9 dci diesel , pulls really well and holds the road really well . According to reviews , it holds the road better than a Zafira because of the short wheel base and lower positioning .
I have to source a real spare wheel as it only has one of cannister jobs in the boot .
ohh and having every dash instrument in the centre of the car takes some getting used to , as there is just a blank behind the steering wheel .
I think the front is ugly and a bit chunky / slabby ( actually the whole car is = l.o.l. ) but my lass loves it and she hopes to have it later in 2013 when she hopefully passes her test
and maybe next year , crossed fingers , i will be back in a Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 C.D.T.i. (150 )
Seasons Greetings To You All .
