Default More Q's On Vectra Features

OK, so we've only just got it and I havent a clue how some things work, so Im asking you, the experts,

so the key has a button on it for opening the boot, when I press it nothing happens, i.e. the boot doesnt pop, yet when I press the button on 1 of the front doors, a wee noise beeps and the boot pops. its not a key fault, as the key works the alarm/locking, etc. fine

my dad reckons pressing the button on the key only unlocks the boot, as the car hasnt got a boot lock on it. its just blank where the lock usually is.

secondly, my mirrors wont fold in, I've read in the owner manual to make sure the two buttons for selecting right/left mirror arent pressed in and then press the direction button in (i.e. the 4 way switch thing) nothing happens, maybe I'm not doing it right cos the heated mirrors work fine and the glass moves fine electrically as well.

    any gen? cheers.

    Hi
the door buttons and keyfob button only release the boot lock
you will still have to press the boot button to open it....the boot lock will only "stay" open for a short time then it resets itself to "lock" again

    The mirrors
do you have the electric folding mirror option on your vectra? your mirrors will only fold in if this factory option is on your car. Its a £100 option so not many took it up

its an energy model, it has electric/heated mirrors so I thought maybe electric folding would be there too.

heres another question for you all, is an energy supposed to have a trip computer, cos this 1 does??

As MV said, folding mirrors are an additional feature to the electric/heated ones. Also, when you press the boot release button the rear number plate light will come on so you know it's unlocked. If you press the boot release button on the drivers door, it will also beep.

If you want to check what spec your model would have as standard, have a look at this thread.

Sorry to keep asking so many questions folks btw. never had a car with features above pas, elec windows, central locking, etc. lol

duncan I've tried that brochure spec archive thing before, it doesnt give you a full run down of the complete spec as its a special edition energy, so its not included in the actual brochure of "long term" models. the energy brochure isnt very comprehensive either, it tells you the car has alloys, air con, cruise control and an alarm, but it doesnt go into detail of the rest, so I'm left guessing what its got apart from whats obvious from the car.

That's what I was meaning. Look for the Energy Special Edition brochure on that site in the relevant year/section.

It's going to have everything that comes as standard on a Vec, plus the bits listed in that Energy brochure. If you've got anything on top of that, count it as a bonus!!

the energy model as does the breeze model are based on the LS
    with added features of
    Alloys
    Trip computer
colour coded door trims and handles

the breeze model replaced the energy
the breeze got the darkened headlights and SRi front bumper over the energy spec.

The LS is the main "fleet" model so vx will have excess amounts of the LS so limited editions of energy and breeze have been brought in to sell excess amounts of LS hence another reason why these models are cheeper than the LS.

cheers, I'll go and read up on the Life spec (think the LS is called this now) my car has the trip comp, sri style rear lights and dark headlamps, alloys, full colour coding, but no rear heating ducts, front armrest, cigarette lighter or steering wheel radio controls. this much I do know.

btw, if the breeze replaced the energy, why does the energy have a trip computer but the breeze doesnt.

again, sorry for harping on, just curious to know as much about the C as you lot do collectively.
