    Default Bluetooth Kit integration

    Hi all

Apologies as I'm sure something similar has been asked before but nothing I've read really gives me definitive answers to my questions. Basically I want to have a bluetooth system that's wired into my audio system directly and will cut off the audio system and play the bluetooth output if there is any from the phone. This is actually going to be used for sat nav directions on my HTC desire rather than making/receiving calls, so I'm not too worried about microphone input and so on, only the sound from the phone to the car system. I'm also wondering how I can figure out for definite what audio system I have (I think it's the CD30 but can someone tell me how to verify this). Any extra info people thing will be useful to me would also be greatly received

    Thanks
    Jay

i used my htc desire via a parrot kit mki9000 (basic no screen version) and it pushed audio via bluetooth for the announcements fine. check the front of your radio it will probably say CD** (** = something like 30 70), but the parrot kit will work on mostly anything with the correct wiring loom adapter.

edit, checked your profile - you'll need a SOT122s adapter lead from ebay as well..

    hope that answers your questions.

There's a name which has been mentioned a few times in threads I've read so nice to see someone that's familiar with this stuff Plasma will check the car tomorrow to see if the sound system has the number on it. One other question, I believe I need some "removal keys" for the sound system. Can I just use a paperclip or something for this instead, or do I need these special little pieces of metal? Also, when you say it pushes announcements, do you mean that it mutes the sound system?

If u pm your reg no, i can tell u tonight lol.. Yes removal keys, cost about £2 on ebay or so and make the job a lot easier to remove, although i have used long thing screwdrivers in the holes to simulate this but it can be ackward..

The htc uses a bluetooth protocol which allows it to stream audio to the parrot kit, the parrot kit sits inbetween the radio and speakers and uses its own built in amplifer, when the parrot is talking it disconnects the cars speakers to allow it to sound. There is a mute wire also which triggers the 'external in' function of the radio (certain models) and mutes ALL the speakers including the centre speaker if you have it, so in theory it is muted twice, once by the relay onboard the parrot and then again by the radio.

Thanks for the advice Plasma. Unit is a CD30 mate. Considering what I'm after, any advice on what to go for? I've read in a few places the Parrot isn't as good as the Mr Hands free? Just wondering if I can get some input on that really. I'm not bothered about any fancy screens or contact lists or any of that rubbish, just something I can get my phone to pair with simply. Any advice what to get if either?

I have an MKi9000 brand new in the box and the SOT lead to connect it to the Vauxhall Quadlock (is the the right name??) connector.
Bought this to fit to my CD70 Navi in my signum as i've had parrot kits in my past 2 cars, but my CD70 has now gone wrong and i've bought a DVD/Nav/bluetooth aftermarket head unit for mine.
    PM me if your interested.
