    Default Thermostat on 3.2 V6

Had mine changed earlier this week and the engine note seems lower, car feels tighter and performance is crisper. I know before the change that it was running like the "choke" was open, remember them anyone, lol, but why the other changes. Anyone any ideas.

probably as the engine is now operating at the right temperature and the right amount of fuel is going in (always running 'cold'), i noticed the same after i changed ours on our 1.8, probably notice a slight increase in mpg too, cant explain the engine note though

Well, with my motor sharing all the problems with temperature the other guys have had, and then reading your posts, I couldn't resist buying a new Vx Thermostat kit (90502201) from ebay for £20 when the opportunity came up. Now I just need to find out how to change it (I'm sure there's a How2 somewhere for a 3.2, I just can't find it LOL)

Well there's a how to on plug changing which gets the plenum off, then I think there's more as it's buried down beneath the intake. I had to have mine changed and the intake flange as well as the seal at one end of that had gone. I saw it when it was in the garage stripped down.

Oh well, that about determines it for me, a very limited set of tools here, and nowhere to start a job that I might run into problems with that would mean leaving the car overnight.

No problem, I'll just present my motor to my local workshop for this job after Christmas. Still, at least I managed to saved 50% off the special rate Vx drivers club price for the "bits"

tbh if it's just the stat it shouldnt cost that much, taking off the plenum is actually a pretty quick job. It was the price of this flange that bumped my bill up.
