    Default What a cr@p system !

Sent my tax disc off the Vectra back to DVLA about 2 weeks ago and thought i might hear/get something back by now, but No ! It could take upto 6 weeks !!!
They're quick enough to get the money out of you and stuff you with a fine if you don't have tax, but try getting back YOUR MONEY as quick !
    Refund application
Once you have applied for a refund and you still have the vehicle,
you cannot use or keep the vehicle on the public road until it has been
taxed again. You will normally receive your refund within six weeks.
If you have not received a response to your refund application after
six weeks, please phone DVLA Customer Enquiries on 0300 790 6802.

Give me back my money - NOW !!! Santa needs it. Lol !

Yeah they take their time alright. I once threatened HMRC with court and expenses plus interest for delaying my wifes emergency tax rebate. She then received a cheque within the week. Typical gov departments, will not do jack until pushed or threatened with something like that or a worthy mention on bbc watchdog.

Quite agree, and they don't tell you they take that 6 weeks off the time left on the disc, and only refund what's on ity when it hits the refund desk. Robbing swine.

And it will only get worse now that they have closed most of their regional offices. Expect loads of things to get lost. God only knows how long it will take to process Cherished number plate transfers now!

BTW I heard on the radio that they are doing away with the tax Disc, you will still have to pay it, at the post office or online, but you just wont have one to display anymore. and you will be able to buy it online without your insurance actually being valid on the day it starts. So even more un-taxed/uninsured cars on our roads.
