    Default Dual pipes.....

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question, will the dual pipes of a petrol vec fit on to my cdti? Or are they different?

    cheers

i am breaking a 2.2 (twin exit) and fitted them onto our new 1.8, we used the 2.2 centre pipe which is the Y piece, and the 2 back boxs, the only thing i needed to get was a reducer to join to the 1.8 front section, as its smaller, not sure what size on the diesel. all the hangers were already on the car to hang the backbox to the other side.
we had to cut a bit of the front pipe back to allow for the extra length due to putting the reducer in.
me being fussy, but wish i took another 1/2" off, but its hung now, so thats how its staying until the weather picks up lol

I've been offered the twin exit pipes with the defuser, I just wasn't sure weather it would go straight on because mine being a diesel, yours looks mint mate, I love the way the twin exits look, especially when the weathers cold and you get that little bit of smoke comming out, lol

cheers, worked out well for us, we were selling the exhaust, and the twin exit bumper, but our new one was blowing in the middle, so seemed silly not to do the swap, all in it cost me around £7 iirc for the reducer, and just swapped the trims around

Guy on mig snapped them up rather quick for £80. Only twin exit i like is on vxr but saying that if i did have one then it would be changed for a single exit too!

the ones i fitted last week were off a 3.2gsi,jus needed an adaptor, but the guy who fitted mine had the machine for expanding pipes as he makes his own exhausts for his rally car from the exhaust ports on the engine right the way to the exit at the rear

On the cdti, is the back box hollow or has it got baffles, I was wantin to do the same, bought a duel exit defuser, jst need to get twin back box but I would like a small bit of growl off it, drown out the tractor noise, so I know whetherto change the middle box too.
