Vehicle : Vectra and a Signum

Trim : top of the line in both

    Engine : Z18XE,Z19DTH,Z20NET

    Year : 2006

Default need an aftermarket front and rear parking sensor system

can anybody recommend a front and rear parking sensor kit that does not cost megabucks and does not require a science degree to install?

Its for the wifes car so i guess an 8 sensor system that has an audible buzzer is the minimum but would be interested in having the little screen to show distances can only help..

I'm inclined to think along the same lines as Andy.L on this, however, that link seems to show a very "low on labour" option

I've fitted a few gagetman rear parking sensors and have never had any problems with them, there not so hot on the front as they ideally need to be switched on/off manually.

The euro car parts kits are very reasonable and I've not had any issues with them, they were on special last month it might be worth a phone call

Whilst I have the factory front and rear parking pilot fitted to my Siggnum as you know i do not really want to go to that expense for the wifes vec. I can get a kit from the bay for about 50 quid that has 4 front and 4 rear sensors plus an LED screen that shows the proximity of objects and where they are etc as well as the audible warning. Its a good price and i could probably fit it myself where as the factory retrofit option would cost a lot more and she does not have the wiring for the dash button either..

I would like a front sensor set up but apart from manually switching it on every time you park I can only see a manual activation outside of the OEM set up. What do others do with the front sensors?

My reverse are wired to reverse light, so activate when reverse gear is selected.
The fronts are wired to an ignition +ve and only activate when in close proximity to something, ie- 1 meter.
£25 off eBay about a year ago.
