Default Any tips for fitting water radiator?

Having some problems fitting my new water radiator. I took all the radiators out and the fans. I've fitted the fan to the water radiator and fitted the intercooler radiator onto the water radiator.

Now I'm trying to put it in the sills that it's meant to sit in, and it's so blooming awkward to get it. It's as if it won't fit.

Has anyone got any tips when fitting it all in.

Just to point out, car isn't on axle stands or anything like that, although the crash bar is removed to give easy access. I just can't get it in easily!

    1. can the intercooler be fitted after the rad?
    2. the crash bar removed could be causing the front end to warp just enough for the rad not to sit right?
thats my 2 pence worth lol

you need to have the rad mounts fitted but only with the bolt done a few turns so they hang down, you then seat the rad in them, tighten up the bolts and the rad will raise and fit snugly into the top mounts..

I have done this on both ways, once with a car on axle stands two weeks ago and also with it no jacked but with the crash bar removed..

the intercooler is always fitted to the water rad... the one i did a couple of weeks ago we even managed to leave the aircon rad/condensor connected while it was on jacks, i take it you don't have aircon or its removed.

The aircons removed yeah, I'll whack that back on after.

A question though, is it neccessary to fit the air con condensor back on? I'll obviously put it back on but I'm curious.

Thanks anyway, the bottom mounts are still in place so I'll look at loosening it tomorrow.

its required if you want your aircon to work of course.. I don't have mine fitted at the moment, i may refit it in the summer. I have no issues and mine its an ECC it just doesn't chill me as such.. I drive with the window open most of the time anyway to get rid of the smell of my farts

    Fair enough.

What would happen if you pressed the A/C button. If it didn't put mine back on, I don't want something to blow up inside or build up pressure somehow, just a bit cautious lol.

Do you leave the canister and the silver pipes in place, or did you remove the lot?

Right, might do that to be honest. Don't even need the ****** thing.

When I took it off first it was mad lol. Pulled the bolt off and ran off to let the gas out lol.

How do you loosen the rad mounts? I can't see the bolt.
