Weld a nut onto the head? Iirc there should be enough room to do it. This seems to happen alot when folk use the wrong sized torx bit in the hole. There is thread lock on the bolts which doesn't really help matters

guilty! used the wrong size at first, welding a nut? wouldn't there be a chance of burning the carpet?

You'd have to cover everything up really well before you start (remembering to disconnect the battery) and then keep an eye on things for a few hours to make sure nothing has caught alight.

An easy out would possibly work but due to all of the thread lock you'd probably just slip in the hole

Use an allen key on a socket, did one on my car on monday, used a T45 on a impact gun, oh how shiny bits of metal flew everywhere

Allen key whacked in the hole fits good, then i used a breaker bar on it whilst whacking down on the allen key

Or you could do what I did when I had exactly the same problem and just remove the runner that you did it to from the bottom of the seat, leave it in place in the car, remove the same runner on the new seat and be careful to line everything up properly when you re-fit.

Runner still in place drivers side of drivers seat where I rounded off the bolt

Note the missing runner on the back seat
