Default Would a tailgate fit in my boot?

I've just managed to buy a replacement tailgate off ebay for my hatchback, this might sound like a daft question but does anyone know if a vectra c tailgate will fit in the back of a vectra c? I can get hold of a van but would prefer to pick it up in my car rather than a van.
    Thanks in advance.

Probably, if you fold the seats down and put it diagonally in the passenger area. Getting it in and out might be awkward due to the Vectra's awkward boot shape (those little shelves on the sides are always in the way!).

But given you've already got a Vectra C tailgate, the most sensible thing for you to do would be to go out with a tape measure and check!

I got a Signum tailgate in my Signum. The Vec tailgate is quite a bit deeper. I wouldn't like to call it!

I doubt it. I once got a bonnet from a mk4 golf in my boot, but it was a tight squeeze.

You could always remove your old tailgate, assuming it isnt raining, drive there, fit it on the spot and drive home

I'm in Winsford in Cheshire and got to get to Rotherham to pick it up so a bit of a drive, don't fancy doing that without a tailgate fitted
Think I might phone the scrapie I'm getting it from and see if he wouldn't mind trying it for me before I set off....

You could strip out the plastic shelves before setting off. Only a 10 min job and it should add a few extra inches capacity.
