Boot Lock no whirring noise and wont lock or open

Hi,

When I opened the car the boot unlocked and seemed to pop around a 1/4 inch, problem is that the boot won't open or close, the dash shows that it is open and the interior lights stay on. When you try to open the boot there is no whirring noise as normal and nothing happens.

Help? Is there a How 2 to fix? Does anyone have the thread link?

Estate or Saloon?

If it's the estate and electric they sometimes stick. I gave mine a nudge to lock it then it started working again.

It's the estate 04 plate but not electric.

Also check for stones, etc jammed around the plastic flap where the boot mechanism locks into as that can snag the lock preventing it from doing it's job

I press down on the boot lid and it opens, mine must be a tight fit. Not sure on the estate but try pushing against the tailgate while holding in the chrome button.
