Default Irregular rear end knocking.. Possibly temperature related?

    hmm,

After some second opinions guys please? I've search other threads, done a few checks, think its the rear upper control arms... But!!

well, I've had the annoying rear end loose rattling for past week or so. Due to commitments and weather, had garage check it over, they say rear is all solid, might be rattling pads.. I doubt this, had rattling pads before and know the noise!

Its defo the rear, and to behonest the cars done 107000 now.. I renewed all the front end this summer, to my knowledge rear never been touched!

anyway.. Today the noise has stopped, back end still a bit noisey, but nothing like the loose knock I was getting, like a rubber mallet hitting underside of car?? Today was 8 degrees.. Last week -3 to -6 degrees... Is it possible that its dry bushes or summit?

im tempted to just pay a garage to do all the rear next week as weather and time not on my side, what do you guys think? Anything more obvious?

    cheers

    Mike

Have you chevked your exhaust hangers? Sometimes they can be guilty of causing knocking noise.

Hiya, yeh checked them. They fine, even had someone shake it while in the car!

just odd because a very definate prominent noise is now... Seemingly not there!

Thanks guys, so the prognosis is that even if

    1. They knocked when cold but not knocking today
    2. I've shook the wheels at 12 o'clock position but feels solid.

But the upper control arms can still make a noise right? Think I might just get them done regardless, what else is there on the rear other than these, the roll bar bushes and links?

    Thanks again guys

    Mike
