Default Z22se Intermitent fault engine keeps missing and holding back

Well after cleaning my throttle body due to slight issues of the tickover dropping and car missing a beat ever so slightly I got my code reader out and it showed faults P1120 and P1220 which is the throttle position sensor if Im right.I cleared the codes and let it see if it throws it up again. Now when I stop at any point with the car the tickover drops down to its normal 700rpm then for a split second every now and then the car seems to cut out as if its going to stop then settles itself down again. Also when you come of the throttle in traffic and come onto the throttle very slightly theres a little misfire for a very split second. Yesterday on a run to Manchester the car would not pull right and was holding back really bad as if it was missing then all of a sudden it would come into life and pull away,at this point my EML light came on so I put the fault code reader on expecting the same codes but its showing P0131 now.I cleared it off and reset the light and the car is ok again now but Im sure the fault will come again as it has before. Can anyone shed some light into what needs changing please

I cant comment on the first two codes but while reading your thread, the first thing that came to mind was a thread by Vid and his old 2.2. His car would do the same thing after he had some custom exhaust and sports manifold fitted. It turned out to be a faulty O2 sensor. Then later in your thread you mention p0131 (Oxygen O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1) so looking good so far. The 2.2 only has one bank but two sensors, one before the Cat and one after. I believe Sensor 1 is before the cat and if i remember rightly its on top of the Manifold when you look over the top of the engine.

Should be able to see it on live data depending on what equipment your using to get codes?

or by back probing the sensor

Critch, that sounds very rude and possibly illegal......

And I am talking about a bit of "back probing"
