    Fairley easy yes.

you will require a brake caliper rewind tool.

Their are way of retracting the piston without but you risk damaging caliper

your looking at 1 hour labour charge for a garage to fit them for you

Very unlikely that worn rear discs and pads would cause the handbrake to be ineffective once applied
Most likely the replacement spring has not been fitted as part of the recall, and the handbrake has disengaged
This would be noticeable when returning to the car, as the handbrake would have returned to the lower (off) position
Even after the recall, mine still does this; the handbrake on the Vectra C is not fit for purpose and/or work as intended

Equally, even with fully worn rear discs and pads the handbrake on my car works perfectly well
The main issue is the lack of performance during normal service braking

The wear on the rear discs and pads is common, the typical life can be as low as just 30K miles

Pads and discs need doing if they're low anyway. So not wasting money. You'll probably find that the extra material on rear pads means that the travel on handbrake is reduced and so can get a better grip.

No point in doing anything else until pads and discs are sorted
