Default weekend/summer toy for less than 1000 pound

Basically looking for a toy for the weekend in the next few month. Looking for something that's going to be nippy and just all round good fun. I've got a mapped Vectra cdti that's putting out 194bhp and 296lbft of torque so needs to be quicker than that. Don't mind stripping the car out as I can use Vectra for the family car. Any ldeas?

That is thinking out the box. What there like performance wise, I would be stripping it and would want it to he quicker than the Vectra

Get an import their lighter. Their about 190bhp but its a very small And low to the floor car. When my mate does track days round bends the four wheel steering like being on rails they can keep up with evo's but they nail you on straights if they tried.

Toyota MR2. Not very heavy to start with. Get the right one and 170 bhp +. Handles great if you either learn to drive it properly or have the nerve to push it
