    Default Upgrades - Rain/Light Sensor & Auto-dimming Questions

    Evening

I'm getting my VXR's cracked Windscreen replaced next week, and am stumping up for a Rain Sensor item to do some upgrades after searches on here

So, I have checked the Headline loom and have got the 3-core Ribbon (Regensensor), so that is all good.

I know I need to source an 'EX' type sensor for the Auto Wipers & Lights

After this point, I seem to lose track a little...

I can find a Xenon Suitable Light Switch with Auto position, so thats fine.
Do I need a different Wiper stalk atall?

Also, I then need to get the functions enabled via Tech2 or equivalent?

I also intend to fit the Dimming Rear View Mirror and also the Door Mirror - I think I have the pins in the door loom plug as per a post on here.
I have read that I need to get a 6-wire Mirror Loom from the REC to Rear View for it to also work with the Door Mirror? Is this right?
Otherwise, this lot is just a plug & play unit, no Tech2 requirements?

    hi m8

no replacement wiper stalk is needed, you just put it on the intermittent setting and when it starts to rain then the sensor will do the rest

all you need is the ribbon loom to go from the dimming mirror to the rec and that part will work straight away, you will also need
the drivers side auto dim mirror then you will probably need the wiring retro fitting from the drivers door multiplug back to the rec

soon as youve fitted the rain sensor, and the auto light switch then it will all need tech2 programming apart from the interior dim
mirror and drivers dimming mirror as they are just plug n play.

If the VXR is like the SRI then make sure when you get the windscreen replaced it comes with the rain/light sensor bracket already attached to the screen. Trying to glue one on afterwards can be problematic.

I've ordered a Rain Sensor Windscreen, so hopefully it'll come with the Bracket attached. Will find out Monday.
