Default Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive!!

Driving back from bluewater shopping centre tonight an old woman in a rover 25 pulled into my lane nearly side swiping me, clearly didn't even look before pulling over, really made me angry :@ I slammed the brakes and swerved and was missed literally by inches, so honked the horn and stuck my high beams on but wasn't sitting up close behind her(didn't want to risk her slamming the brakes on) pulled up alongside the car as we was on the m2 (she was on the slip road coming off for Rochester) gave the horn a generous amount of use. She wouldn't even look at me which made me even angrier!! Other half was shouting at me saying to leave it and she didn't do any damage, but it wasn't the damage that bothered me, was the fact she put my other halfs 2 year old girls life at risk by not paying attention to cars around her. Caused a row between me and the other half and a silent rest of the trip home after. Why do people bother driving if they aren't going to do it safely?!

    Rant over!

I had someone pull out of a blind driveway on a 60mph road without looking had to throw it on to the other side of the road to avoid hitting anything a few weeks ago

and today on a 50 mph road I had someone in one of those big nissan things pull across in to my lane with no indicator or anything nearly took front of the car off

My old hobby horse of people not being aware or competent on the roads. By chance, there was a programme on ITV's "Tonight" last night. Apparently, the Insurance Companies are getting worried, as over 60% of accidents causing serious or fatal injuries are under 25 year olds ( and I'm not getting at anyone on here), apparently becuase of lack of experience in bad conditions, night driving, and Motorways.
They took 3 under 25 drivers, two been on the road a few months, one, the woman, passed her test one month before. First thing they did was ask them, on a scale of 1 - 10, where 1 is new driver, and 10 is very experienced expert, how good did they think they were. They all said 9 - 10 out of 10. Now, I've been driving for 40 years+, and I'd only rate myself 8.
First, they did reversing round a corner. Two men not too bad, woman ended up on pavement
Then they put them through a skid pan. One male held it, one lost it, but recovered, struggling. The woman was all over the place, no control at all (about what you'd expect for a month qualified City driver) .
They tried then at night driving on a twisty A road, the men were ok, the woman misjudged a right turn and blew a tyre on the pavment.
I'm not saying all youngsters are like this, or women are bad drivers, most I know are great - but all three of these were vastly overconfident and rated themselves expert drivers. By the end, then 2 men were down to about 6/10, think the woman was still saying 7/10.
