Is it possible to divorce a hu from the rest of the car with Tech2?

I pulled a bargain CDC40 full dab etc from a scrap car with no pass or GID. I have access to a genuie tech 2 so i'm just wondering.....

It is possible to get the GID to work if..

Half-CAN, if you have the wiper stalk with the computer buttons.

Full-CAN, if you have not fitted the Pioneer steering controls adapter loom.
The left scroller will operate the board computer and fault pop-up messages.
If you have fitted the adapter loom, then the radio steals the button control functions from the display.

    Regarding the original message -
I am sure Tech 2 could do this, as I know for a fact that Vauxcom Professional / Advanced will do this.

Even the advanced / professional version of Vauxcom is only about 70% as good as Tech 2, hence my comment.

    Cool -
Looks like you have a good adapter loom.
I know that some makes of the adapter loom do not work.
