Hey guys, trying to bleed the brakes using the above. I filled bottle and connected to the reservoir and spare tyre at 18psi with air tight connection. Problem is it is not locking up the brakes. When the bleeder is connected the wheels are turning freely. I have bled all 4 calipers and fluid running clear with no bubbles. Could it be the bleeder is faulty or there is air trapped in the master cylinder or abs and if so what's the best way to bleed these?

    Cheers

    Sorry missed that bit.

TBH I wouldn't think it would lock the brakes up, remember the brakes are servo assisted, and if you've ever tried the brakes without the engine running you'll find its very hard to stop. Have you tried the brakes with the car running?

Yeah, pumped up the pedal each caliper I bled. I have also bled with engine off and running and made no difference. Have put on 2 new rear calipers and shoes and still got a spongy brake one minute and hard as a rock the next and then wont stop and seems as though the vacuum is wasting away to quickly but I've checked vacuum lines and all seems fine although not too sure how to check these on a diesel but all the hoses look ok and the vacum pump is working ok. Handbrake is crap as well, have to leave the car in gear when on a hill. Been having problems ever since the rear calipers were taken off and really starting to fry my head.

It's not meant to lock the brakes, only push the brake fluid along to push air bubbles out of the bleed nipples. I've used Eezibleed for years, and there's no indication in the instructions (mine are early 1990s vintage, but I doubt they've changed) that you would expect the brake calipers to have enough pressure to clamp the pads on the discs.

can u not get it into a garage and get them to stick it on the rollers and see what the test comes back as? the gunsun will never apply the brakes in the way you are thinking it should.

servo @ vacume - master cylinder - abs unit - brake pipes - flexis - calipers, there should also be according to epc be 2 washers on each side of the bango where it connects to the callipers.

get it on the rollers at a mot place and see what they say.

Sorry meant to say pads. I'll just leave it into Vauxhall and let them sort it out, fed up with these brakes and can't seem fix them myself.
