confused Are Vectras Steering made of chocolate?

    Hi All,

Yet again ive got my '02 vectra C in the garage for new rubber on the front. What im finding though is that the tyres are f*cked before they wear out. I do a lot of miles granted, but it seems that the vecta only has to look at a pot hole and bang the tracking is out.
Every time i take the car in i have four wheel alignment done, and it always seems that before too long it needs doing again.

Im doing about 400 miles a week, but it strikes me that the tracking seems to get knocked out easily. Or is it just me?

    Appreciate your thought...

    Daz

Had my Vec's tracking done when I bought it 2 1/2 years ago. I have done 19k, the last 15k was done on a set of Goodyear Eagle NCT5's that came with the GSi alloys I bought. They ran perfect, no run out, no uneven wear, I have just replaced 2 of them that were down to the 1.6mm markers across the whole tyre.

Sounds like something else may be forcing it out.
Have you tried taking it back within a month to see if it is still set??
Every time I had tracking done lately they tell me to come back within a month for a free check (it's always free so don't know why they say it like that) for issues in case something else is causing it.
Then again my last pot hole smashed the seals in steering rack so maybe it's all weak
