    Default Help with energy prices

Just wanted to get an idea of what people are spending on there gas bills per week/month or quarter.

I onky ask as we are spending about £20/£30 pw on our gas alone and we dont think its right tbh. We live in a 3 bed house with a gas combi boiler and our meter is on pre payment

    Cheers

I think you'll always pay more for gas with a pre-pay than a metered supply, so that may be the main reason. Three bed house (normal metered gas) with a normal boiler (i.e. not a combi so it heats the water and fills up a hot water tank) and the boiler is not the newest/most efficient (inherited with the house), plus a gas cooker (hobs and oven) and we're paying about £45/50 per month on gas.

At this time on year it can be on most of the day some days. It'll come on every morning for a couple of hours and then several hours in the evening. As I work from home, when I'm not out on shoots I'll be in my office/around the house so I'll turn it on if it's getting a bit cold. If yours is only on 2-3 hours a day that's sounding a lot (what you're paying).
