Default Does your car drift left? Help!

    Hi all

I recently got the front springs changed on my '06 VVT exclusiv because one had broken (I changed both). It was done by a main dealer but they had to use aftermarket springs as it was under a 3rd party warranty.

Since then it seems to drift left - I can't make my mind up whether it is worse than before, I guess I didn't notice it before if it was doing it.

The only thing that has changed is the springs, but apparently they are the correct model for my car (std suspension), the car sits right as far as I can tell and drives ok apart from this issue. The springs also look correct visually as far as I can see.

If I'm on a decent stretch of motorway with very little apparent camber cruising at 70 in the left land and hold the wheel loosely it will drift left and be at the point of crossing into the hard shoulder after a count of between 5 and 10.

Just after some feedback from other owners to see if this is normal?!

If not, could springs cause this?!

    Cheers

To check whether it is a camber effect or not, try driving on the right hand side of a road (with plenty of visibility!) and see if it still drifts left. Other than that, go and have your wheel alignment checked.

Hi, thanks. So if it didn't (or it pulled right) then this would be considered normal? I'm not very technical

Apparently the garage checked the alignment and it's ok!

Remember?? Road are not flat! It'll be dipped left slope for rain to part away! If u're pulling right then alignments' off!

Check tyre pressure, bounce the front and rear to see it bounces back up right. Softer or firmer differences can affect.

Hi, I got them done about 3 months ago when I had new pads fitted, I did jack the car up and everything seems to be spinning freely

yeah, i heard a few times its a safety feature of all cars, vans and lorries ect. stop you drifting into oncoming traffic ie. falling asleep at wheel. and also, have you noticed how a massive majority of crashed vehicles with the driver falliing asleep at the wheel, the cars allways on the same side !
