Default Heating never gets too warm

My heating in my Vectra C 53 plate does not seem to get nice and hot, it just seems to blow warmish air. My thermostat is not working so would this reduce or effect the heating controls and blow warm air and not give hot?

any help would be appreicated especially in this weather.

Your temp gauge probably is working, but your engine doesn't get warm enough to show it!

Also will be using more fuel as the engine will always be running rich to compensate for the cold engine as if you were on part choke.
