Default Shiny new inlet manifold is on!

Got my car back last night with a brand spanking new manifold so now I have shiny clean new swirl flaps

It had it's MOT at the same time so I thought it's the perfect time to blank my EGR, so I went about fitting my blank tonight, got the bolts out & pulled the EGR pipe down... then the flipping gasket fell deep into the depths of the bay- ********!

Fitted the blank, fitted my DT UK green box & I'm in love. But now the EGR restrictor is on (Went for the one with 1 single hole in the middle) I get a wooshing type noise (Bit like a boost leak) when I rev it, easily hear it on idle too..

Now is this the EGR restriction 'hole' making this noise, or the fact it's not got a gasket between the egr pipe/blank/egr? (A single metal gasket fell out, couldnt see any other gaskets)

& if it is because I dont have a gasket, is this gonna be an issue?

    Cheers!

Do you need a gasket either side of the Blanking Plate?

I'll order a couple of gaskets then. I've read there's supposed to be a gasket either side? Like I say, only 1 single metal one fell out, unless the other stayed in & was stuck to the EGR it's self.

I'd be tempted to fit a full blanking plate and get the egr deleted from the ecu if you want to keep that inlet manifold shiney. With the hole in it you will still get a load of crap going through it over time.

The blanking plate replaces the metal gasket so you don't need to order any

So the new 'whooshing' noise/sucking noise is just the fact theres the small hole in the blanking plate?

    Cheers!
