    duncan, or dose any body know the formula for

    BHP = PS

    lbft = Nm

    Hi Ian, in answer to your question

    BHP = PS (÷ 1.014)
    Therefore 200BHP ÷ 1.014 = 197.24 PS

    Lbft = Nm (1 lbft = 1.355818 Nm)

    Actually, this is the wrong way round. 1 BHP=1.014 PS, so therefore it would be 200 BHP X 1.014 equalling 202.8 PS.

    I'm surprised no-one noticed! (I'm looking at old threads for something to read!)

    You're quite right there - didn't spot that. I just saw the conversion factor, hadn't noticed it was going the wrong way!
