Default been having trouble with signum

well i have been posting for help regarding my signum 2.2dti and found out what i needed sunday i finally called the RAC they told me i had a problem with starter motor so bought one this morning but was struggling getting old one off, so i started removing things around the engine for better access asked my neighbor for help removed airbox first the next door came out to help while he had hios hand down the back of the starter motor i stood to the drivers side then i looked down and noticed the belt running down the left side of the engine didnt look straight so got my torch and looked again and guess what the belt wasnt on it looks like one of the pulleys has snapped off. what can i say i know what my starting problem is. just been back to the garage were i bought it and there is no one in to deal with me the owner has just gone out. im gutted only had signum 7 weeks just bought new alloys and a duplex ss cat back system. so im going back again in an hour to try and sought it out.

If it's the crankshaft pulley, it's a known 'issue' with the DTi. The inner and outer parts can separate. The solution is a new pulley and bolt. I'd recommend going for genuine as the aftermarket ones may not be the right weight and/or properly balanced which can cause transmission/creation of vibration instead of helping to remove it.

well went back to MDM Motors were i got the car on the 21st to check on car whats been done and guess still in same place nothing had been done so i lost my temper a bit told them i wanted it sorting and left.
drove past on way home from work yesterday and i thought i saw the car still there so pulled over and rung them they said could i ring this mobile number regarding my car so rang this number and it went through to the garage who was repairing my car they explained my car was ready so i went to the garage and he wanted paying for the car before he would release it to me, i said as far as im aware it was under warranty they said they had been told cambelt pulley snapping and starter motor wasnt covered by warranty and i would be paying for the repair. ive been back to the car dealers the boss isnt around and when i ring they dont answer. so ive had to pay £200 to get car back, im just glad ive got car back and i will never deal with MDM Motors again what a shower of s*** that company is.
