z18xer knocking noise

Noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine when it is warm and it only does it every few seconds oil and filter was changed last month 5/30 fully syn oil and genuine filter also had to change the exhaust cam solenoid and took the filters off the solenoid no loss in power at all engine is sweet other than the noise 77k on the clock. Is this something i should be worried about ?

Check for loose or broken engine mounts, is the exhaust loose? Bit hard to diagnose as you are not very specific about where the knock is coming from on the engine.

Have checked engine mounts they look fine, gave the engine a rock and seems to be fine it's hard to tell where the noise is coming from as it only last about a second then goes away for a few seconds seems fine when cold, only seem to notice it when the engine is warm and the exhaust is fine will try and have another listen today

Do you notice a drop in revs when the knocking occurs?

No mate no drop in revs, its sounds more near the inlet manifold than anywhere else cant hear it when the engine is being revved, engine sounds sweet tbh just that annoying knocking sounds now and again but can't hear it from inside the car, think something could be loose near the manifold?

Mine does this also has been doing it for about 2 months, but it's very faint and hasn't gotten any worse.
I Think it might be the Cam Gears, but the engine is fine, and still runs sweet. I'm blaming the cold weather.

What filters did you remove from the Solenoid?

Yeah im putting it down to the cold weather as it was fine before the weather turned so cold i removed the filters from the cam solenoids the 2 orange ones and the black one at the end of the solenoid, maybe needs slighty thicker oil as its running on 5/30 fully syn

mine makes tapping noise constantly done all i can full service, cam solenoid filers so on but still taps

Have had a good listen to it today and still can't pin point where the noise is coming from, nothing seems loose on the engine, but it sounds like the cold start knocking noise but the car is warm and the oil level is spot on, i think i'm worrying to much because the car drives spot on

Remove the top pulley cover, my noise is coming from the exhaust pulley.
Goes away though after a run when I use the VVT. No good on slow runs, as the oil doesn't really get into the pulleys.
