    Default Z18XE Coil Packs

I've been getting the occasional misfire on my early 2004 1.8 Elegance Dual Fuel, mainly at lower throttle opening or rpm. Manifesting as a slight juddering, but once the revs are increased, or the accelerator released it runs smoothly again. I've changed the spark plugs and air filter and it's not really changed (if anything it's a little worse). It does it on petrol or LPG, so I think I can rule out the fuel side of things. It happens far more when the engine is hot than when it's cold.

I had a peer at the throttle body, and it's pretty clean (maybe running mainly on LPG helps there). So that's making me think it's the coil pack - given these symptoms seem to lead to that on this engine quite often based on what I've read on here.

So I'll order a new coil pack and see if that cures it. However - can anyone tell me what the difference is between the several part numbers that come up for the Z18XE? Is it purely the original manufacturer of the coil pack? Mine's a Sagem 2526116A with a GM part number of 90536194. Is buying a cheaper non-GM one going to cause problems, or do they generally work as well as the £100+ ones?

As nobody replied, I assumed that nobody has any strong opinions on non-GM coil packs.

So I got a £40 aftermarket one, and can confirm it's cleared up the misfire. Only time will tell how long it lasts I guess...
