Default How to disconnect the radiator fan

    Evening y'all,

Having a bit of a problem with disconnecting my radiator fan.

Basically I've got a damaged water radiator which I'm currently replacing. Now I've taken off one of the screws connecting the fan and radiator. The second one, like an idiot, I've managed to strip it to an impossible point. I thought I'd try cutting a new head, with a hacksaw so a flat blade screwdriver would do. It didn't work.

I'm fed up of this screw, and have found a used radiator fan from a scrappy for £20, so I can connect it to my new radiator.

I'm trying to disconnect the wire linking the car to the back of the radiator fan. It doesn't budge off and I can't seem to find some sort of mechanism to disconnect it. Can anyone help?

I believe they have a clip that slides out to enable the plug to be removed.

Im only guessing but it may be the same kind of connector as on a headlight.

^^ Yep. The plug has a sliding component as above. Clean the plug off and you should be able to see it. I think it's red, also as above.

When I removed mine over a year ago, I teased a small screwdriver in there to get the slide moving. Even being careful, I broke my plug! The two parallel plastic parts still lock the connector in place, though, so I am content that it is secure.
