Pheasant smashed my headlight today so I decides to change both headlight and fit angel eyes. I saw that DEPO angel eyes are popular. My question is, what's installed in the both rings, what kind of bulbs and how many?
I don't want to use any LED's in the headlights...

I fitted Depo angel eyes to my pre facelift some time ago, I assume the facelift ones are the same. They have 4 x 286 bulbs in each ring so 16 in total, no bulb errors, but the original ones used to blow on a regular basis. Replaced them all with Lucas bulbs (fiddly job and absolutely no chance with them in place) and not had a problem since. They are a yellow colour rather than white, but I'm going to facelift mine soon so considering options, might just put some LED angel eyes round the fogs, but the ones with indicators in as well are attracting me.

I have watched a few internet videos where they put them in the oven until the bonding becomes pliable enough to separate them and others where they cut them open. Out of interest how do you get them apart? Also is there a bonding agent you would recommend? Sikaflex/Tiger Seal?

I cut them open with a dremmel just along the sealer line were the clear lenses and the backing of the light meet and I use tiger seal mate

Changing those 286 bulbs would require bumper off so if I go for that solution I'll buy Lucas bulbs in advance.
I saw that couple of member wrote that light is poor from DEPO angel eyes comparing to stock low/high beam.

I don't think there is any difference in the light output, they are projector headlights just the same and DEPO are good quality anyway. I'm just not keen on the big reflector for the indicator bulb on the facelift ones, prefer the split and painted type personally.
