Talking I nearly have everything for my UHP4 now

So tonight i'm gonna sit down with soldering iron and get to it.

I pretty much know all I need to apart from one thing, i've ordered the mounting bracket from vx but does it just clip in underneath the heater controls or does it bolt in?

The UHP clips in the frame and then it slides in an locks behind the odment tray under the heater panel. there are 2 extended hook arms these go inwards towards the gearstick and down or the odment tray wont fit back in

slides in behiind the back of the cubbyhole bit and you can feel it click into place, if its upside down (quite possibly) then the cubbyhole bit wont go back into position properly.. Did one of these for Kman the other day and as swappsies getting a couple of bits done on the work car lol.. if ya need any info John gimme a shout, its a pity that when the audio connector blocks are connected they dont lay out straight like the other cable on the loom, i've spoken to the seller to see about getting one equal length, makes it easier to tape and tuck away

pipped to the post by paulie, that'll teach me to write an essay

btw, give yourself more lead on the uhp plug or it'll be a pig to make it reach, mines normally about a 12-15inch or so

    Cheers guys

Yeah I was a bit confused as to why they didn't just make all of the cables the same length but I suppose it'll be to do with the fact that the aftermarket ones tap into the speaker wires. It's going to be far easier than trying to solder the wires inside the car anyway

Dean how much cable do you normally leave between the cd70 and uhp module and how much between the roof (mic) and uhp

Edit: you must have added your extra bit when I was replying

    Cheers bud

Lol, I read somewhere to use shielded speaker cable for the mic, is that strictly necessary?

I fitted mine properly tonight and I'm well impressed. Just need to find a Tech2 to program the UHP so I can use the voice activated features and remove the 'PROGRAM UHP' message that keeps popping up.
