Engine Shaking the whole car

The other day, my mate's 5 series wouldn't start.

I arrived and we tried jumping it, but still no joy. I left him to it as the RAC were called.

I got about 6 miles away when I noticed that the car felt a bit weird whilst driving.

When I stopped at lights it was ticking over and shaking quite a bit. When I revved it a bit it started to shake more up until about 1700 rpm when it would stop.

It was at its worst at about 1200 rpm...

When I pulled over, and opened the bonnet, it stopped.

Any ideas what this could be? Maybe something was trapped in the bonnet when I closed it after the attempted jump start?

What engine? On my 1.9 150 #3 injector wire has a bad contact and it miss fires causing bad vibration. wiggling and pushing on the connector cures it for a time. i also had a major loss of power though when it wasnt firing at all.

it is a 1.9 150... It hasnt done it since.

Have you filled up since? could be crud in teh fuel or tank?
