Maybe something like a Haynes manual might be a good thing to obtain? The Vectra C manual (4618) covers your engine.

Locate where the starter motor is on the engine.

Disconnect battery, then disconnect wires from starter motor. (have you got the stereo code before you start?)

Locate fixing bolts and undo starter motor from engine.

fitting is the reverse of removal as they say. Then enter stereo code and reprogram the one touch windows (which is mentioned in the handbook)

Can't see why a HOW2 is needed to remove a starter motor. Or am I missing something?

I guess its always an easy job if you know what your doing or have done it before.

I will say I found it a lot easier to get the motor off than back on... it took me around an hour and I'd never done it before and I didnt need to reprogram the stereo on my old half-can car.

Yes, and never once had to reprogram anything other than the windows... That was with an NCDC 2013 with CID. All I ever lost was MPG etc data from trip computer. Guess I was just lucky, no hassle.

Maybe your car was right on the changeover point from ½ to full CB.
