    Default Cooker Hob question

Mother in law’s electric cooker went on the blink and I have found a good second had one to replace it.
My question relates to the hob, its one of the flat glass type and it has four hobs

    2 x ceramic and 2 x halogen

I’ve never seen this before and I was wondering what the difference was between Ceramic and Halogen to enable me to brief the mother-in-law. The halogen ones are really bright when you put them on max power.

I’m not sure if one is hotter than the other or they heat up quicker.

Hope there are some cooker GURUs out there

    Many TAs in advance

The Halogen rings are more efficient due to them heating up and cooling down quicker that the ceramic ones. They are also more controlable.
The heat output will depend on their power rating.

Some info for you to show her HERE towards the bottom of the page is the explanation.

Just the job Caterman, that the sort of thing I was hoping for.

She is a pensioner and things like “which is most efficient” will help her

    Thanks
